Why Icelandic Wool Is So Special:
This eco-friendly fibre is sacred to Icelanders, and quickly became beloved by us too - that’s why it is the cornerstone of our collection. Icelandic wool is unlike any other in the world. Raised in one of the planet’s harshest climates, Icelandic sheep have developed a unique dual-fibre wool that provides exceptional warmth, breathability, and durability.
The inner fibres trap heat, while the outer fibres repel moisture and wind - creating a blanket that feels warm yet light, insulating yet breathable. This is why Icelandic wool has been trusted for centuries to protect against extreme cold, without overheating.
The sheep roam free in unspoiled wilderness during the summer and are well-cared for under strong dedication to animal welfare.
It’s purposeful luxury, perfected by nature.
Our Promise
When you choose a KH blanket, you’re investing in:
• Rare, Pure Icelandic Wool
• Respectful & Transparent Sourcing
• Small-Batch, Quality Craftsmanship
• Eco-Friendly Practices
• Authentically Made in Iceland
Made with Integrity, Never Compromise
Our blankets are woven in small batches in Iceland, using slow, traditional processes. We intentionally avoid mass production, harsh chemical processing, and blended fibres.
Less Mass-Production, More Labour of Love
Water vapour from geothermal heat is mainly used as an energy source in the production of our Icelandic wool yarn. When the wool is washed, the use of chemicals and detergents is kept to an absolute minimum, and the wool is collected, washed, and spun all within a few miles. We work with a mill in Iceland that shares our values of high-quality and old-practices.
Meaningful Gift & Everyday Essential
Our heirloom blankets make a really thoughtful gift.
