Awareness of Frequency, (or vibrational energy) is increasing in popularity in the world of health and wellness. A term that once was reserved for more spiritual concepts, is gaining more mainstream momentum, supported by growing research. The idea that everything - at the cellular level, including the clothing we wear, emits a vibrational frequency that can affect our wellbeing, energy, and even our mood.
One of the most common comments we hear about our Icelandic Wool Blankets - is how comforting they are. Many have shared stories of how they seem to help calm in times of stress, sooth when healing from surgery, or temperature regulate during a fever. The science behind it - wool naturally carries a high frequency of 5000 Hz (megahertz), a typical, healthy human body carries a frequency of about 100hz. Wearing or using fibres with a higher frequency can help to raise, stabilize, and regulate our frequency, supporting our wellbeing.
Wearing or using fibres with a higher frequency can help to raise, stabilize, and regulate our frequency, supporting our wellbeing.
A 2003 study conducted by Dr. Heidi Yellen revealed the science behind the different frequencies of materials and their effect on human health- and the results were fascinating.
Using an Ag-Environ machine, she measured the signature frequencies of natural fibres such as linen, wool, cotton, and hemp, as well as synthetic fibres such as polyester, to discover how frequency varies by fibre, and how they affect the human body. What she discovered - natural fibres carried high frequencies, with wool and linen topping the list at 5000hz, where synthetic fibres carried low frequencies, around 10-15hz.
The study proved that wearing fibres with less than 100hz would compromise our wellbeing by disrupting our energy field, and those with high frequencies- wool and linen, could actually raise it. This discovery supports the idea that natural fibres such as, linen, wool, cotton, and hemp, can contribute to our overall wellness.
