One of the most wonderful aspects of wool, is its durability - it’s one of the reasons our Pure Icelandic Lambswool Blankets are Heirloom pieces - they really do last forever.
Wool contains a natural oil to the fibre, which will resist stains, and in most cases, airing your blanket in cool fresh air is the best way to freshen and revive it.
For stains, we recommend gentle blotting to spot clean with a lukewarm, damp cloth, using mild soap, such as this Lopisapa [Wool Soap].
If your blanket needs a full wash, please follow the directions below:
Gently Hand-Wash in a Basin using lukewarm water, and gentle agitation.
*Don’t Wring or Twist*
Apply a Small Amount of Wool-Safe Soap, such as Lopisapa.
Rinse with clean, lukewarm water.
Gently Roll to remove excess water. Don’t Wring or Twist
Lay Flat & Air dry, avoiding direct sunlight or heat as it can shrink and damage the wool.
Fully Dry before storing, and store in protective bag or pillow case. Do not store in plastic, as this can trap moisture.
